Re: Hull

Thanks, me too. I know the beam is 19.5', it's the distance between the center point of each keel I'm trying to figure out.

Re: Hull

Does anyone have a Mahe 36 on the hard who could measure the keel to keel distance for the mini-keels? I'm trying to avoid having to dive to measure it for a boat lift. Thanks.

Positive experiences with Marine Parts Source

The online marine supply company Marine Parts Source came up on google shopping recently when I was looking to buy a new electric Raritan toilet with a very good price, significantly lower than the...

Free Electric Toilet - Annapolis Pickup Only

I have a Sanimarin Comfort electric toilet, removed in operating condition, available for anyone who wants to pick it up free just outside of Annapolis. It is saltwater flush, includes the switch and...

Re: Lagoon bulkheads

I personally know 4 people who circumnavigate in 4 different Lagoons who live in Annapolis alone. I find it hard to believe I know 40% of all Lagoon circumnavigators! You're right though I...

Re: Lagoon bulkheads

I flew a helicopter (As-365) with elastomer blade hub that flexed to its full extent every blade revolution, 360 revolutions per minute. And that wasn't even a part we ever really had to change out!...

Re: Lagoon bulkheads

Curious what your naval engineering background is and what in that background would lead you to believe that noise from rubbing nonstructural finishing panels is related to structural integrity any...

Yeah, I was replying to post 8, that's why I quoted it above my reply. New to this whole message board concept?

Re: Lagoon bulkheads

Your imaginary boat is "a distraction and irrelevant" so you spend an entire post listing "clues" instead of two seconds listing the type of boat? Alrighty then.

Also still waiting on an answer as...

Looks like it's also for sale for a cool £3,000,000 (https://www.colliers.com/en-gb/properties/for-sale-no-mans-fort-the-solent-uk-south-coast/gbr-gunwharf-quays-portsmouth/gbr3008105)

Re: Winchester Olin 25mm Flare Gun w/ case and outdated flares

Just as an FYI, I'm pretty sure you can ship neither the flares or the flare gun via USPS, each for different reasons, and if you can you need to make sure to disclose it. I would double check that...

You wouldn't buy any cruising catamaran because you're not actually a cruiser and best I can tell your sole contribution here is to randomly show up and tell us all how you'd never buy this or that...

Re: Lagoon bulkheads

Then don't! I own an FP and personally prefer them to Lagoons but I don't have the pathological need to decry how much I would never buy a Lagoon over and over. One wonders why you do?

What kind...

Exactly.

Additionally, I was specifically referring to the advice to "If you do use the step up transformer you’ll a 230c inverters that can synchronize with shore power and provide the amperage...

Re: step up transformer to run air con

The step-up transformer is still going to provide 60hz. Unless you find some crazy Korean 60hz 230v inverter, the inverter is going to be 50hz. You can't feed 60hz AC into that and expect it to...

Re: Buying house, dock situation is weird, where to put sailboat?

To be fair, advice from someone who lives in the same county and has faced this same issue is pretty valuable. Certainly far more valuable than advice from 99.9% of realtors who know nothing about...

Re: step up transformer to run air con

Not the most efficient setup, but you can buy a 230 volt/50 hz inverter and either a big charger or another 120 volt/60 hz inverter/charger that's the same size. You turn the 120v/60hz to 12/24/48...

Re: Checking the math on 1.65 kwatt off grid solar system

Well if they aren't fused at all they couldn't handle a short with just 2 panels in parallel. The live panel would feed the short in the dead panel. Either way it doesn't make much sense. Even less...

Re: Checking the math on 1.65 kwatt off grid solar system

I am struggling to understand this from an electrical engineering perspective. I don't doubt there was a fire on a solar panel on a boat. However, if a panel is adequately fused for a short from two...

Re: Checking the math on 1.65 kwatt off grid solar system

Hard to say if a given voltage is more dangerous in DC or AC. I had heard that as well as a kid but turns out the answer isn't really clear and in many cases may be the opposite. Worth a google.

Re: StarLink Maritime Way Over Price

I agree.
I continue to be baffled by these "my internet is perfectly good, why do I need Starlink.....but Elon is screwing me" comments. The cognitive dissonance there actually hurts!
