Re: Iridium GO and professional weather routing

I am a long distance delivery captain; on my off shore voyages I always use a professional weather router. I also carry a sat phone. I don’t trust the grub files routing process; would rather have...

Re: Broker refuses to put sea trial as purchase condition

Run, don’t walk away!! You should be able to undertake a pre-purchase survey and Seatrial. If not, then move on to a “ more” reputable broker. There are lots of good boats and good deals out...

If abaft the beam, then...

Re: How does a mainsail with a jib work

Re: Navionics boating app power consumption

Go on line and get at least a 50 Watt USB “plug in” to insert into the dc outlet.

The problem is the pads consume more current (amps X volts = Watts) than the 2.1 amp or so usb plug ins you are...

Re: Urgent - Bermuda (St George's) to Azores (Ponta Delgada)

I echoe my colleagues...

Re: Planning to sail from NY to Miami fall 2002 - advice please

I’d defer from Pt Washington, not because of marina, but because you will need to round the “Battery” (lower Manhattan) and traverse the East River and the infamous Hell Gate and big current., not...

Re: US Cruising Permit for Canadian (and state tax question)

Also, in Florida, if a non Florida resident, you get the 90 day “permit” then an additional 90 days for $450 fee. Too bad your broker didn’t advise you, as you could have kept the boat in FL (tax...

Re: BEST POWER BOAT FOR THE THORNY PATH

Re: BEST POWER BOAT FOR THE THORNY PATH

Why not look at a 34 Mainship (rum runner), a back cove, a True North, or a Sabre, all except the Sabre have a single diesel inboard with great range and good comfort.
The are other boats like the...
