The dinghy rings are interesting- do they permanently mount to your sailboat or can they easily be removed when not in use?

Yes the fairways are the safest bet. I used the fairway on the passage from Galveston to Corpus and had no concerns during the overnight treks. Of course I had a large enough crew for watches and...
