Re: A couple of days sailing in Adriatic?

Hi fellow owner of boat in Croatia (we are London-dwellers the rest of the time with hubby an Essex-native as it happens)! Our boat is doing 2020 and 2021 in charter (with plenty of use by us) before...

Re: A couple of days sailing in Adriatic?

Re: A couple of days sailing in Adriatic?

My personal preference is Croatia but I am biased; our boat is there and the scenery/islands are something to behold.

Most charters in Europe run for 7 (or multiples of) days, Sat>Sat. Late...

Re: Boot Dusseldorf suggestions

Where to stay? Do you mean you are yet to book accommodation? We were considering going and had a look back in September and it was already slim pickings and much higher prices than non-show...

Re: Elan yacht

Elan 384 Impression owner with experience of 45 Impressions too. You probably want to specify what model/years you're interested in.

Certainly the post-2002ish Impression line are (I think all)...

We've chartered there 8 times in 3 (or 4? Lost count!) years and just bought our own boat there. Happy to answer questions.

Re: Croatia Cruising Guide

Very little in the way of currents. There are pilot guides with anchorages and ports etc but not really a cruising guide akin to the Doyles guides for the Caribbean. Lots of blogs and articles online...

Re: Skype Alt. - Eastern Carib

If she needs to be able to call regular numbers (i.e. landlines OR cell phones but not over the internet) then look into Viber or Google Hangouts.

Calls to US landlines are reputedly cheaper on...

Re: Which charter company

I'd say you have all the key places covered. If you've been to Greece you will be familiar with the med mooring in general terms but for docks Croatia uses lazy lines/slime lines more than anchoring...

Re: Which charter company

Happy to share details but they're not a big enough operation to support one way - you either need a company that has bases in both or would need a skipper to return the boat (they will all charge a...
