I have been using a paper copy of an electronic pdf of my documentation for years at more than a few ports. Photo copy protection is ancient tech.

Not sure where gender comes into play here, but in any case I give crew our MMSI and EPIRB numbers as well as Iridium Email address for emergencies. Everyone is 100% encouraged to "file" float plans...

Axiom MFD - Radar Target Acquisition - New Version of Lighthouse

That is assuming your network only uses your AIS for GPS, that would be fairly unusual. Most MFD's have built in GPS, as do many VHF's none of which require a functioning VHF antenna side to have...

I assume by "can" you mean "might" and by "might" I mean under ideal conditions. Averaging 10kt+ is very optimistic particularly if you are planful and avoid high winds.

Cost / Lifetime watt-hour is pretty much all that matters unless you have significant space or weight constraints which most boats do not. Lithium is not competitive with FLA or AGM yet. Disagree?...
