Re: Does a device like this exist?

I would use an inexpensive bilge pump instead of a fresh water pump. Something designed for saltwater.

Re: Down to 4 Boats...Please Help Me Decide...

If you go with a boat over 45 feet a Ketch in my mind may make sense. However if you are under 45 feet I would opt for a Cutter rig. The Pearson 367 is a better choice then the 365.

Re: Best fresh water pump

I don't have an accumulator and I have all PEX tubing in my fresh water system and I have never had a pulse issue.

Re: What's a Good 31-39 foot Cutter?

I have a Pearson 367 Cutter. I like the cutter rig better than a sloop or ketch. I use the staysail on up-wind work most of the time. Also the staysail is great in heavy weather.
I may be...

Re: galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

s/v Jedi - Your solution is Correct. I was just referencing the units that Victron have. They don't have a 120/240 Volt 50 Amp Isolation Transformer.

Re: galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

Use Ohm's Law to calculate your needed wattage/voltage requirements.

P=E x I Where P is Watts, E is Voltage and I is Amps

So if you require 4500 Watts at 120 Volts your amperage would need to...

Re: galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

In actuality the 7000W on supports 32 amps at 230V. When you have higher voltage amperage is less.

Re: galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

If you have a 230VAC/50 AMP shore power connection the 3600W will not work. The 3600W is for 30 AMP shore power connection. For a 50 AMP system you would need the 7000W which only comes in 230VAC.

Re: galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

Both Galvanic Isolators and Isolation Transformers are used to block stray DC currents when plugged into shore power.

Galvanic Isolators do this by utilizing diodes in their circuitry which...

Re: galvanic isolator, which one? 16amp or 32amp

I agree with s/v Jedi, an isolation transformer is the best option. Yes, it costs more, but in my opinion worth it. It blocks both DC and AC stray currents and protects against shock.

Re: System Wiring Diagram - Looking for professional feedback

Using a voltage drop calculator with a 30 foot one way run on #2 wire at 150 amps you will have a voltage drop of 1.4 volts. That does not take into account the resistance of your connections. The...

Re: System Wiring Diagram - Looking for professional feedback

Depending on the length of the cables for your windlass, I would recommend a larger wire size. If you have a long run you need to calculate the voltage drop under load.
I have seen as much as a 3...
