Re: G-Flex for teak caulking?

Its not TDS. 1/4" might be a lot. I think mine is 1/8" or 3/16". But everywhere i replaced caulking, TDS held well. Gflex will fail under the sun. I tried it on small cauges, and holes.

Re: Another one: aground at pounce inlet and rescued

There is no such thing as safe inlet in any condition. Any implies storms, gales etc etc. There are times when some of those inlets you mentioned are not safe, especially the ones involving fast...

Re: Primary Fuel Filter Vertical Separation Question

You put a tee with shutoff valves, to bypass the bulb during run time and switch back to prime. Works very well to fill my primary racor 900 series, and 2 secondaries. And I've used it countless...

I will re-route that to ST8002 NMEA port.
OpenCPN is already getting same AIS/GPS...

Re: Clear reinforced hose for raw water?

Green/grey film will form on the inside. Raw water strainer is a better place to keep clean and use for visual inspection. I would get marine hard wall water hose rated for the purpose.

Re: Realistic cost to refit a 50ft cruising boat

The fact that you are asking likely tells me you are not going to pull the trigger. You have to be a bit crazy and you have to be committed and really want to do it. And numbers will only deter...

Re: Profurl lc42 jib furler

Sorry this is a bit off topic, I also have LC 42. Mine is with 3/4" turnbuckle screws and pins. Is that a 3/4" pin turnbuckle? if so, your stem head has very little "meat". If its 5/8" it might...

I looked up...
