You want to test with hydrochloric acid ... dry it out, then drop the acid on, Calcium Carbonate produced by precipitation from hard-water should visibly fizz producing CO2 when it comes into contact.

I have one like this ... I managed to get acceptable 2AWG crimps, but it made a bunch of very poor crimps on 6AWG lugs ... eventually I got some good crimps, but I wasted a bunch of lugs and wire.

Groco make them in bronze and say they are for engine and exhaust applications ... but they won't work on the suction side either. No standard siphon break will ... they break a siphon by letting air...

The USA has a charted line where the Rules change to inland rules, I don't know if there's an official demarcation in Canada, or if it's up to us to determine whether we're in a roadstead or harbour...

That's only for inland waters ... on the ocean it seems to still be required. Most of the Canadian modifications are for compatibility with the US inland rules, which means that the rules won't...
