Water is safe on metholated spirits flame. It worked perfectly twice.

I swapped the cannister and it works OK.I think the other cannister is suspect - although it seems to work OK in the top section.

I have an Origo 6000 and recently the oven refused to turn off. I had to remove very hoy bottom plate and throw water in the hole. This worked but does not seem an appropriate ongoing solution. I...
