Re: Broad reach - should I use my main?

If you still have difficulty furling your jib/genoa after you've turned well downwind, I suggest you try easing your jib/genoa halyard tension. On my boat, with a pretty old furler, more halyard...

Re: Pre-Purchase Surveyor in San Diego

I used Kells Christian 2 1/2 years ago and found him to be very good. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Re: I could use some advice choosing a sailboat

As many have said, you can't realistically buy a bought to sail around the world on if you aren't an experienced sailor. If I were in your situation I'd go looking for a modest coastal cruiser in...

Re: Cal Sailboat owners _ UNITE!

I have a 1978 Cal 2-27 in Channel Islands Harbor (near Ventura, California) that still needs lots of work, but is getting better gradually. I mostly sail singlehanded, so I'm very interested in...

Re: Monitor Windvane LIKE NEW

Would possibly be interested, but until you buy a daily newspaper for a buck to include in your photos (to help convince us of your legitimacy), I think most forum members will assume your offer is a...

Re: Cal 31 yaws and rocks badly when sailing in waves

Are you sure you have let the mainsail out far enough?

Remember "When in doubt, let it out".

I think broad reaching with a mainsail too close to the centerline will exacerbate the rounding...

Re: Berth Lengths for Albin Vega, Rawson 30, Alberg 30 and the like?

Quote from the last linked website:
