I used to use a Jetboil stove for backpacking. One thing to note is they boil water really quick, but they are not so great for simmering.

Are you sure you have let the mainsail out far enough?

Remember "When in doubt, let it out".

I think broad reaching with a mainsail too close to the centerline will exacerbate the rounding...
