The davit system is very strong and can handle up to 800lbs, thats not the issue Iam concerned about, my main concern is will the difference between 400lbs and 650 lbs...

The 45 is a much better layout then the older 48 style.( brand new this yr on the 45)

The 45 has considerably more sail area ( then even the 44') and needs the slightly deeper draft for better...

Both are GREAT boats!

If the budget will allow it,,no question the 45 is the boat! And gives you the option to cross the big pond more comfortably if you should decide in future!...
