Re: Go to Great Inagua On Your Way Through the Windward Passage!

Yes, just there this week. You can easily clear in and out in Matthew Town. Very pleasant and helpful harbor master and C&I people.

Re: Marinas in Georgia, SC, NC for 3-4 month stay

Thanks for all the info so far. I think the bug situation at Brunswick will keep us from going there. Top of the list so far looks to be Charleston Harbor Resort, Palmetto Bay on Hilton head, and...

After spending 5 years in the Caribbean, we're heading to the east coast in late June.

I'm working my way through Dockwa and other sources looking at marinas north of Brunswick, GA and south of...

Re: Saba , NETHERLANDS

We were there 2 years ago around the same time of the year. At that time there were only 2 mooring balls and one was questionable. They claimed to be replacing them soon so sounds like that happened....

Re: Crossing from Bonaire to Culebra in Early November with Catamaran do-able?

Go look at the current picture on Windy (https://www.windy.com/-Show---add-more-layers/overlays?currents,15.319,-67.628,7) to get a good view of what it looks like.

The current is generally...

Re: Crossing from Bonaire to Culebra in Early November with Catamaran do-able?

I've done Bonaire to USVI and Salinas, PR for the last 3 years in November and December. Best bet is to wait for a low wind weather window and motorsail so you don't give up easting due to the...

Re: Must have, wants, maybe, noway, whoops

Waiting a while to see what you really need/want is good advice.

However.... buy it all before you leave the continental US. We've been in the Caribbean for 2 years and things we thought we'd...

Re: Replacing shower heads & faucets

I have a 2015 450 and the spigot and adjusting valve for the wash basin in the non-owners heads are bulkhead mount with spigot and mixing valve separate units. Other than the one for like $250 on the...

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

There is a very a couple of tight squeezes where the stairs to the flybridge and your blue circle are. The mouse line that was in my boat seemed to be wrapped around the electric winch wires which go...

Re: Curacao and the ABCs in general

Agree with lost of what was said below. Spanish waters in Curacao not a very nice anchorage for long stay, and it's a big island so you need a car. We had the boat hauled at Curacao Marine and found...

Re: Lagoon Escape Hatches Falling Out

I have a L450 and I'm going to make some patches like described below. Is it just the glass that falls out of the escape hatch? And the aluminum frame remains in place?

The brackets I received...

Re: Moorings in STT

Think you need a permit to be legal. We spent a couple of months in the area earlier this year and the DPNR came around a couple of times looking at moorings and long term anchored boats.

See this...

Re: Visit to Miami / Ft Lauderdale area next week - suggestions for marinas/eateries?

One of our favorite spots is "Le Tub". The best hamburgers you will ever have in a cool Caribbean feeling shack about 2 miles south of Port Everglades on the intercoastal.

Re: Just signed on a new 450s!

What do you use for fiddles to keep the pans on the stove? I've wanted to swap out the standard stove top for a domestic unit on our 450 but even with fairly small seas the pans slide off the stove...

Re: reentry to US from Bahamas cruise

Sea Lyon,

We've used the ROAM app multiple times in Puerto Rico (Fajardo) and the USVI (St Thomas) and it worked like a charm.

I realize this is an old thread but I'm looking to replace the faucets in our 450 and have been unable to find anything that mounts to wall / bulkhead. Anyone find a source for something that works?

Re: B&G V50 VHF - change MMSI?

I went through this last year and could not find a way to do it myself. It took a couple of tries but I found a B&G dealer/repair shop Ft. Lauderdale who would do it.
