Two places to safely anchor: Emerson Point on the Manatee River, and outside the Magnuson Hotel on the ICW. You can pull your dinghy onshore at both places.

We live in Gulfport, FL which has a great overnight anchorage with a free dinghy dock. Since holding can be iffy in a blow, I would not recommend being there for a long time. There are moorings balls...

We had the Pettit Trinidad Pro applied in January after soda blasting and three coats of epoxy barrier paint. So far it is working great in St. Pete, Florida where there is an abundance of sea life....
