Re: Ocean Crossers and Global Cruisers Only

Do yourself a huge favor. Get checked by a good pulmonologist and develop a treatment/management plan. New medicines and inhalers may help you a lot. Perhaps this is more important than any boat...

Re: New outremer model coming

If you were to rank catamarans (of roughly same size) beginning with an Outremer by gradually dialing down performance, and dialing up livability while trying to maintain build quality, what would...

Re: Nautitech 47

Re: Financial Cruising Plan as a South African

My two cents:

1. Convert all liquid funds to USD. With all the trouble brewing in the world (Brexit, China trade war, Eurozone weakness), US dollar is one of your best bets to hedge against...

Re: Completely seized nut on engine mount

The best penetrant is a 50-50 mixture of acetone and automatic transmission fluid that you can make yourself. Apply using a dropper or syringe and leave alone for a couple of hours or overnight. ...

Re: What should I do. Cost of owing/maintain and living questions

Depreciation will not change whether you finance or buy full in cash. Besides, one can always finance a nearly fully depreciated boat, too

If one wants an equipped, cruise ready, greatly...

Re: What should I do. Cost of owing/maintain and living questions

While I have been reading many recommendations for not financing a boat, I can’t get rid of an idea niggling me as to why it is a bad idea for someone who wants to cruise for a limited number of...
