Aye, that makes sense. It really is beyond academics at this point. I love reading though. I found a pdf floating around that breaks down trimming.

Nah. See, the trip is leverage to *need* to use the sailboat when I get back :)

Yes, cost per effort is in favor of the rental but I have the most flexibility bringing my own.

Ok, the Portland made me chuckle.

The porta-bote almost made me lose my rootbeer. Then I stopped laughing and realized how cool that thing really is. I'm curious how tight those joints...

How about something like a Boston Whaler?

Maybe the 5.2? Seems to have the space and weight requirements.

I tend to overthink things.

First boat. Moving slowly. I found a sunfish rigging guide that has to be the one the seahorse was copied from :)

I've been wanting to sail for years. As fate would have it, a 14' 5" dinghy literally landed in my yard. I'm told it's worthy, though it has some obvious age and wear.
