Concur with rocketscott.
But, just a note that the filters can be hard to come by. We typically find them on ebay. They come in multiple filter specs, ie 2, 10 , micron.

Agree with dockhead about schengen.
However, if your boat is not VAT paid, you will be opening yourself up for VAT since Portugal requires you to be resident for 183 days a year. This could snag...

We have been cruising this area for 20 years as US citizens utilizing the Scandinavian treaty.
If you are willing to spend 2 seasons, you might do something like this:

Finally returning to denmark after 20 months.
Plan to have a light season- denmark, germany and sweden. With a little luck norway end of august.
