Re: Your favourite (or least favourite) shaft seal.

I'm replacing the bellows on the 7 year old PSS. What a pain. Can't get the shaft coupling to come off so I can slip the new bellows onto the shaft. I'd stick with the stuffing box. (Any advice on...

Re: Is there a senior (70+) cruising sailor forum?

I was ready to sell last spring when the wife decided NOT TO! I'll continue "Messing about" in our boat as long as my knees and bank account can take it! Great Forum!

Thanks! I will be replacing ours at our next haul-out. It's been there as long as we've owned the boat: 7 years.

Re: Dripless donut stuck on shaft

Hi, I was told that I should replace the rubber boot because it's fully compressed against the hull opening. Your picture shows your rubber boot almost fully compressed.
Is this a sign it's time...

Re: Icebox dilemma: Gut or Rebuild?

I am trying to glue FRP panels to the foam insulation inside the box. What is the best adhesive? Prior attempt failed as the clue I used did not hold over the winter.

Re: Data Marine wind LX-360 instrument only

I have one. It wasn't working when I bought the boat, but I think the problem was the masthead unit or the cable. Home test indicated the gauge worked.

Re: Engine overheating problem ... help

I had a similar problem with my Universal M-25. It has a bleeder at the top of the thermostat chamber and once I let the air out and a squirt of coolant, the overheating stopped.

Re: Is there a senior (70+) cruising sailor forum?

As a mid-70's sailor, I'm happy to spend time on the boat. Getting anywhere is optional. No more single-handed overnight passages. When I'm aboard, I've reached my primary destination.
