Has anyone altered the existing original davits? Cut them down; slip and/or weld an extruded piece to obtain more height. Just a thought. My dinghy has to be strapped tight in a seaway with the motor...

Has anyone investigated replacing the Davits on a pre-2015 Helia 44 with the new design? If so, can it be done and what is involved from a scope of work & cost standpoint.
