Re: What's the deal with Marina's in Monterey Bay, CA?

Yes, our friend has been on the list of Santa Cruz for 5 years, and it might be another 3-5 years. He's also upgraded from a 26ft to a 39ft... which means he'd have to go to the back of the line. If...

Choosing between practical and a cozy

My partner and I have been saving up for a bluewater cruising sailboat between about 35 and 44 foot, our first boat. We're trying to keep the price under $100k, preferably even with any repairs and...

Re: When to pull the trigger

That is a fair question.

I've sailed keel boats most of my life. Mostly in the 26-33 ft range, although one boats I currently help sail is 42 ft. I currently sail in the SF bay and out of Moss...

Re: When to pull the trigger

Thank you Pete!

All of my estimates are pretty loose. The electronics are probably too high. I've tried to put some padding in as well, since many boat projects end up costing more than...

Lightbulb When to pull the trigger

I’m having a hard time knowing when to pull the trigger on making an offer for sailboat for cruising (eventually bluewater).

I know that I’d be waiting forever for the perfect used boat, with the...
