Re: Interior Paint Disagreement Thread
Interlude pro 2 part for the final coats. Roll it on without tipping. The magic is that the bubbles pop by themselves. Andy at boatworks today is getting ready to do a YouTube on Alexseals version... |

Re: Navionics - A Childrens Toy?
Sorry for the above post—I accidentally sent it prematurely. How can I use satellite images and be able to toggle quickly between the navionic charts and sat image on my iPad mini? |

Re: Navionics - A Childrens Toy?
All, I’ve been immensely enjoying the conversations about incorporating satellite imagery into navigation. On my boat I use an equated ray e-80 with an iPad mini velcroed next to to the mfd. The mini... |

Re: Interior Paint
For those who are not going to sand, I suppose water soluble would be the way to go. Those who shoot for perfection, knowing we will never achieve it, plan on many coats of primer to fill the grain... |

Re: Victron 100/30 voltage measurement
I had the exact same nuisance problem with both of my 100/30’s. I chalked it up to Victron economizing on quality control. My logic was why would Victron want to spend the money the money on lab... |

Re: Trojan T-1275 GC12
Trojan says the T-1275 delivers the same number of cycles in the lab as do the T-105. They are both equally robust in the lab. |

Re: Exhaust Riser: quick fix and permanent fix options
I think you got the pictures of your homemade mixing elbow mixed up with the pictures of homemade still parts. |

Re: Recommend a Good Battery Monitor
Since I got my SG I’ve used my BM strictly as an amp meter. I am confident enough to keep my Trojan start battery switched into my house bank and rely on the accuracy of SG. I will start isolating... |

Re: How often do you expect to rebuild your head with full time use?
My cheapie marine head needed zero maintenance during the three years I lived aboard. I believe what does them in is the lack of use. Just prior to living aboard, I opted for changing out the pump... |

Re: Rudder shaft
The pictures below illustrate a project I did on my boat while it was out of the water for an insurance survey. The project involved replacing the 32 year-old rudder bearing on my Morgan 41 O.I. I... |

Re: Onan MDJE won't stay running after start switch released
My MDJE did the exact same thing. It turned out to be the centrifugal switch points needed gapping after a two year layup. Unfortunately, you can't buy those points new anymore. We my post on... |

Re: Intelligent lead-acid battery choice
All, thanks for your replies. I too, like many of you feel that GC-2s provide the most bang for your buck; however, I have just too many irons in the fire to tackle moving the bank to the main... |

Re: Intelligent lead-acid battery choice
Maine Sail, Thanks for the information. Will the Trojan SCS200 in your opinion likely provide more cycles than Walmart/costco type of deep cycle batteries? |

Re: Intelligent lead-acid battery choice
I am not willing to spend the big bucks until after I get around to move the bank outside the engine room. When I do, Perhaps I will buy 5 Fireflys--that would be all I would need if I cycled them... |

Re: Intelligent lead-acid battery choice
John, are the Trojan SCS200's a true deep cycle? If they are what Maine Sail calls a true deep cycle I think that is the way I should go. Also, if the SCS200's have more room above the plates, they... |

Re: Intelligent lead-acid battery choice
One day I will put either fireflys or GC2s under a settee in the main cabin. However, I am not willing to do that for this go around. |

Intelligent lead-acid battery choice
Once again, the batteries in the house bank of my Morgan 415 OI need replacing. In the 10 years or so that I have owned the boat, this will be the 3rd time I have had to replace my batteries. My... |

Re: Shaft bearing replacement Morgan OI
Not all OI's are the same. My 1980 415, which had the offset shaft, required removing the bottom rudder mount so that I could get a bit more room to get the shaft past the rudder. However, my rudder... |
