Re: Broker recommendation for Rhode Island

Can't help you with the broker, but if you need a reference on an awesome surveyor let me know. I used a gentleman out of Riverside RI that was very knowledgeable, thorough, and his post survey...

Re: Engine Vibration or prop?

It's the original prop, but I wasn't able to run it up before I removed the engine. It sat on the hard for 7 years and I brought it straight home to work on over the winter. The cutless bearing is...

Engine Vibration or prop?

Last year I removed my 1984 Universal M25 with 690 hours on it (boat was new to me). I sand blasted/painted it, replaced the exhaust riser, impeller, coolant pump, engine mounts, Propeller shaft,...

Re: cockpit drains/hoses

I have a Gen 1 Catalina 30. The hoses run like yours where the scuppers are connected to the same side as the thru hull. I wanted to criss cross mine like you were saying but the steering quadrant is...

Re: A general social question regarding sailing

I will say that in my very short time being new to the ocean (as opposed to 25 years on a lake) most everyone is very friendly and helpful. Maybe this is transference but my perception of some of the...

Re: A general social question regarding sailing

I am horrible with remembering names so if you tell me your last name when we meet you will be lucky if I even remember your first. Twice now in the last 2 months people have given me their boat...

Re: Swinging from a halyard to jump in the water

Man there are so many Debbie Downers on here.

On our old Catalina 30 we used the spinnaker halyard as a Tarzan swing for over 20 years, all without injury. (don't tell anyone, but the secret is to...

Met the Owner of Island Packet Today

I'm not sure if this is really a big deal, but it kind of was to me. I was at the Boston Boat show today and went on a 35' Island Packet. I was chatting with the person on board going over the...

Not sure how anything posted by 3 other members in between your two posts warranted an "Again I need to reiterate myself" type post, but I guess that's how one can average 6000 posts a year.

I've...

Re: Coolant where it shouldn't be

I know on engines like a chevy/Mercruiser 350 that is the case but on this manifold it looks like they were specifically designed to not do that and have their own specific "tunnel" to go through. If...
