Looking for comps - Who can help?

Hey guys,

Have been cruising mono for three years and am now thinking seriously about upgrading to a multi within the year. Researching the local market has me down to a few choices but I'm...

Re: California Consumer Use Tax After Living Aboard In Mexico

OK. Just updating in case anybody has this problem in the near future.

Offshore Deliveries exclude the buyer from Sales tax. As soon as the boat re-enters California waters, you then have 90...

Re: California Consumer Use Tax After Living Aboard In Mexico

Thanks for that. It seems pretty clear. You have 90 days or "one-half or more of the time during the six-month period immediately following" purchase to get the boat out of California. We will be...

Re: How Much is a Month Worth

Go now. Be frugal. You will never regret it. It's a big wonderful, slow world out here. Enjoy your health while you have it.

California Consumer Use Tax After Living Aboard In Mexico

Hey y'all,

I know this has been asked before, but I can't find the thread or any relevent, recent info.

We bought our boat in San Diego 18 months ago. We bought the boat using an "offshore...

Re: Wife is Close to Axing Cruising Dreams

Who says OP's wife is good? If she was that great wouldn't she be working towards a concession or working plan instead of axing the dream? If my wife came to me and said, "I think we should climb...

Re: Roller Furling vs Hanked On Headsails in a Squall?

Hey, 37' boat here with hank-on headsails. Hank-on is fine for a 28ft boat, but almost all of the small cruising boats I've seen lately have roller furling anyway.

We got caught by a squall...

Re: Our recent test trip with our dog.... (the dog loves the boat!)

We put lifeline netting (buy cheap soccer net from sports store) for our pooch, but now feel exposed when we sail on a boat without it. More to grab onto if you go flying and it also catches the...

Re: Our recent test trip with our dog.... (the dog loves the boat!)

As to regulations: Mexico couldn't care less. We don't bother with paper work anymore. The last few times we've entered, we just let him run around the immigration areas and they spend more time...

Four People and a Sailboat. The Quest.

Give us a holler when you get to FP. We'll be there from April to November, mostly in the Tuamotus, in our little Crealock. We'll be happy to come over and stretch our legs on your big, back deck....

Re: Our recent test trip with our dog.... (the dog loves the boat!)

We have been cruising with our dog for over a year now. We are lucky in that he is really small, so the adjustment to a small space was no problem and he was used to being carried up and down...

Re: Mexico. Go or no go?

No Go. Don't come. If you are coming in with those worries, I think they will become self-perpetuating prophecies. I used to believe that travel opens peoples eyes, but now I only think it works for...

Re: Does anyone have an Iridium Go yet?

Is the antenna absolutely necessary or just convenient for downloading when below decks? Can you get a good signal sitting in the cockpit without the antenna?

Re: Does anyone have an Iridium Go yet?

We just ordered a Go. I was wondering if there are any apps that people are using to strip html on their iphones or ipads. Or failing that, is there any app that you consider a must have when pairing...

Bottom Paint For South Pacific

Our boat has little to no bottom paint left. I'm scraping it constantly and I'm ready to get a new one sprayed on in San Carlos in the next month or so.

Question is: We are leaving Mexico for the...

Agreed. We didn't bother with TIP or visas prior to entering. Way easier to do in Ensenada.
