Re: Does anyone have a 3D printer on their boat?

I've had a Prusa MK3S+ on board and have been making prints as needed. The boat movement is not an issue with printing. I printed some vibration isolators but that was mostly for noise abatement...

Re: Buying G4 Chain along US East Coast

Yes - I am looking for suggestion on marinas capable of handling 750lbs of chain. I.e. offloading it from the truck and moving it to the dock. Probably requires a fork lift, or similar capability.

Re: Oil on top of SD60

If the oil fill cap is left loose, even slightly, the oil will leak out of the top. As the OP found, a split in the o-ring will cause leakage. There must be quite a bit of splashing going on inside...

Re: Vieques and Culebra

We hiked to Cublerita lighthouse two weeks ago in shorts and tennis shoes. No problem. Awesome ruins of one on the last built Spanish lighthouses. Beautiful views.

Other hikers were seniors...

Re: run a 1200w water heater with 900w Generator

I, and quite a few other cruisers I know, plug their suitcase generator, e.g. Honda 2200, into their shore power inlet and provide power to their vessel. There is no magic here, you only get what...

Re: wires burned up with 4 100 watt panels

The amperage capacity of 10 awg is 30 amps - doing a quick Google and seeing several concurring sources. If you can find your wire's manufacture and wire type, you can find the actual value. All my...

Re: Sail repair recommendations in St. George Grenada

I did look at Noonsite, Grenada. Not much there that I could find. Can you be more specific to your recommendation?

Anybody have sail repairs done in Grenada with great results.

Thanks!

Sail repair recommendations in St. George Grenada

We had minor damage to our jib on our transit to Grenada and need to get it repaired - preferably while in quarantine.

Any recommendations on quality vendors?

Re: Separate LiFePO4 batteries from Alternator Charging

I concur with the voltage numbers you all are quoting. I read my 12.5 off the battery’s data sheet (ReLion RB300) and at a discharge rate of 2C voltage drops down to 12.5. A more typical voltage is...
