Drop a small mushroom at the same location as your anchor.
Reel out light line as much longer than your anchor rode as you want alarm.
Reel out enough additional length to feed into cabin and tie...

Most fuel docks have water available with no problem if you are buying fuel. If you are "jugging" it, you will learn to conserve fresh water quick. Have a separate salt water faucet on my galley...
