Re: Blisters again

I would buy a peeler, make DIY hotvac, buy a warm pressure washer and a moisture meter, Peel gel coat, wash daily with warm water AM and PM. Measure humidity weekly until it starts to come down, then...

Re: Outboard decisions: 2 vs 4 strokes

I would choose the 15 HP because you need it with 4 passengers. I would choose 4 stroke because you can fresh water rinse it on davits without starting it. The difference is only 400 euro and you do...

Re: Need a new alternator

I used a Prestolite 8MR alternator 90 Amps or 110 Amps,,for 20 years and never had an issue with them. They were externally regulated by an Amplepower SARV3. Good luck

Re: Cat Purchase- World Circumnavigation Trip

Most cats I that size range will fit the bill. I would set a budget and stick to it, and find a boat for that price. Good luck

Re: Has anyone have experience with Oil Leak Stop additives?

I would not go crazy about it. I would repair of when possible. A small leak will not be an issue as long as the oil is topped up. Good luck

Re: Volvo penta MDI Box

I went through 7 boxes all under warranty and they swapped the whole deal for a different brand of electronics (it is in the forum somewhere). If I was in your situation I would go the old way, with...

Re: Small genset or additional fuel tank?

I think that 550 AH batteries will rarely take over 50 Amps at 14 V = 700 watts = 1 HP plus inefficiencies, ń will pull 2 HP. Without AC I would not put a genset nor a wind generator. I would...

Re: Water Maker

With all those appliances you will do well with a genset. You may replace a genset with a LARGE inverter and MANY panels but even so, it will be easier with a genset. I was in a similar situation and...

Happened to me too…the strainer lid was not closing properly. A little Vaseline on the Oring and care when closing the lid fixed it. Good luck

Re: Alternator cooling

The Lithium bank accepts a lot of Amps, but do you need 200 Amps? 200 A is serious current and you can do a lot of damage with any loose connections, etc. I was there with a 1100 AH FLA bank, not...

Re: Autoprop

What are you trying to achieve? An aluminum fixed 3 Blade prop is cheap and fine to some…others use a 2 bladed folding prop, some feathering, others folding ones. For what boat? What engine do you...

Re: Beaching small multihulls for service

Yes, you can beach that P37. Just center your weight and have a piece of wood you can attach to avoid it nose diving in case there is too much weight forward. I would dive the area to avoid sharp...
