Ahoy,

We cruised West FL during the earlier months of 2023. It happened to be when Hypoxia Dead Zone (aka Red Tide, etc.) was in the area. It pretty much spoiled our time there. Dead fish...

So the next logical question would be - what it the best type of lubricant for those clamps, which are constantly splashed with salt water?


I am pretty sure I lubricated those with WD40 Silicone...

My handles are plastic (Yamaha). One already broke :-(
Also, there is a lubricating hole on the side of casing.

Dinghy Outboard Clamps Stuck - help ideas?

Hi cruisers.


After being unused for some time, the clamps which tie outboard to dingy stern become seized (sp) / stuck and would not turn. (see pic).

Tried plenty of WD40 Silicone lubricant,...

I'm looking for a seasonal/long-term on-hard storage for a 41' sailboat in Florida Panhandle / Gulf area (possibly AL, MS, LA). DIY preferable.

P.S.: Burner parts including orifice are clean and clear.

Hi,

The propane stove on my boat burns with a constant sputtering noise.

It is First Wave stove, similar to Force 10. It starts burning Ok, but the flame starts to sputter shortly after.

Just an update.

Yes, it did. Cleaned the tank (there was quite e bit of sludge), replaced fuel filters - didn't have problem since.
