Re: Heat shrink connectors & crimpers

Just a heads up for Australians. Rhino Tools in Australia sell crimper sets apparently identical to Wirefy. It appears they are the same tool, made in Taiwan, sold under different names. Rhino Tools...

Re: Australian Vector Charts for OpenCPN

Navionics cover the lake, although depth may be a bit off. I have not used SASPlanet for a while, but it used to have Navionics as a source, and you might be able to use that to construct charts for...

Re: Do I really need these fishing rods?

Matt,
A few comments on what I use, which might be useful to your considerations.

For trolling under sail I use a 12" Alvey winch attached to a strong point on the stern rail. The winch/reel...

Re: Missing SGLock Dongle Support Library?

Thanks for the explanation. When I installed opencpn-sglock-amd64, I also installed libusb-0.1-4 as a dependency, thereby solving my problem.

On re-reading, there is a note tucked away in the...

Re: Missing SGLock Dongle Support Library?

My post was about a possible missing package in the PPA. With regard to Flatpak, some extracts from the OpenCPN manual:

The opencpn flatpak build is targeting Linux users on non-debian distros...

Re: Unsurveyed rock up from Bowen NQ Australia

My charts Aus OESENC 2019 and CM93 2025 both have a submerged wreck at
20d 00.1' S 148d 16.56' E
Wentworth Rocks are a fair bit south of there.
Personally, I have always been much farther off...

Re: Expanding wet exhaust hose?

I don't think 2" wire reinforced will ever go on 2 1/8".

An automotive exhaust place should be able to make up a stainless adapter pipe for you, 2 1/8" ID one end, 2" OD the other end.

Re: Timber or steel for engine mounts

Matt,

Trying to...

Re: USB GPS BS-708

No experience with that particular item. Have bought others that are similar. If it is a genuine U-Blox chip, as stated, you should be right.

Drivers are a problem for w7/8/10. Go to ublox for...
