Re: Petit Odyssey 60 bottom paint

I think you have the name wrong. I believe you mean Petit Ultima 60, which unfortunately has been discontinued. I have used it for years in both the Caribbean and US waters, and it as been excellent....

Whatever you do, do not miss going to Shirley Heights overlooking English Harbor and far beyond for perhaps the best view in the Eastern Caribbean. Take your camera. And like previously written...

Re: Need advice on first sailboat purchase

Why waist your time with the boat you are going to sell in a few years. Buy the boat you believe you will be able to do the type of sailing you expect to eventually do.

Re: Caribbean West to Florida

Like donradcliffe said stay closer to the Bahamas than Cuba as if you are close enough they have the right to board you. The old banana channel is probably 15 to 20 miles wide so It’s not a problem...

Re: Caribbean West to Florida

Easy trip. done it many times. Just leave the Greater Antilles to Port and Bahamas to Starboard. Don’t get too close to Cuba. You have favorable current all the way and usually same with the wind....

Re: Weekend boat to single/short hand on the Chesapeake

There are many to choose from but the best Choice is a Catalina 30. Aside from the largest interior for a 30 footer at a good value, there are few companies that offer replacement parts or systems to...

Re: Favourite places to live on the hook

There is no better place than the entire Caribbean basin with US, English, French, Spanish and Dutch islands to enjoy. Just choose the hurricane safe islands during the hurricane season.

Re: I am looking for a good place to keep my boat Mid-December through end of April.

There is nothing wrong with Independent Boat Yard Marina but I prefer next door at Compass Point Marina. Both are located in the lagoon a hurricane hole and affordable. I have left my boat at Compass...

Re: Hylas 44 or pearson 422

Both are good choices but the Hylass 44 in just about every way is without doubt the best choice. They don't get much better than this German Frers design. Strong, fast and seaworthy.

Thumbs up Re: Advice on a Contest 40 Ketch MK-2
