Sticky kill switch
I have had trouble getting my yanmar 30 diesel engine to shut down using the kill switch. It started this after I had the exhaust hose replaced and that runs near the switch. Next trip out, I will investigate if it is somehow causing temporary kinks, if that is not the issue, I am thinking of oiling the cable. Has anyone ever done this?
What type of oil and how did you get the oil into the line? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, |
Re: Sticky kill switch
Cables once they start sticking should be replaced. No amount or type of oil will help this on a permanent basis.

Re: Sticky kill switch
Found that the kill cable was bound too tightly after having the exhaust hose replaced. Lubricated the cable, loosened the straps securing it, and now it is working fine. Thanks for your advice.
