My Wife Saw This...

...and said I should snap a photo to share with the board.
I guess I'll rip off Christopher Cross and call it "stuck between the moon and New York City." What do you all think of it? Not nature, but it has some kind of beauty to it. |
I like it...But I always feel odd with sailboats near skyscrapers... they seem like oil and water.. they just don't want to mix.
I frequently pass the moored boats off the upper West side above the 79th str Boat Basin... but my view is over the boats to the river... and then to the traffic I am stuck in on the West Side highway. When I was in the middle of the ocean and it was a weekday at 8am with nothing but waves in sight and cumulus clouds overhead I think about the streams of commuters pressing toward the city and into the big skyscrapers to "work"... and how pleasant life can be... and how equally oppressive it can be and is for most people. |
Yes, that's the idea... it's a bit of a juxtoposition...
Neat, but I'm eager to get out of here! :) PS: For those who aren't familiar, you are looking at the exact spot the World Trade Center used to stand in. It would have been near the moon... |

No skyscrapers here as the neighborhood has a 19 foot building height limit, but as long as we're posting boat pictures...
|
No Skyscrapers, sorry :(

That Castle is cool! Washington looks very nice as well. Dave... a couple of those look like pro pictures. You're supposed to snap it from the deck. :)
Then again... I suppose we'll bend the rules a little since your deck is still in a warehouse, right? How long till she's launched? |

Waiting on a mate to finish his current bb job, 1 mth maybe, so i'm doing small stuff. When he comes in we'll do the final fair and prime and get most of the interior structure done. I'm swinging a few deal's as we speak that should pay wages for the help. Still probably 12 mth's plus in reality, but she won't be finished. I'll wait untill I get to Thailand/Langkawi area and get a team involved to do the final fitout me thinks. Much cheaper than OZ. EG of pricing from one place. Phithak Shipyard and Services Go to service rates Recon I could get someone from some of the specialist multi builders involved for maybe less Dave |
