My worries about 'Burgee's'....

My CF Burgee arrived today...:thumb:
I must say I'm well impressed with the quality and strength of make and materials... beats the hell outa anything 'commercial'out there....
My first ever 'Burgee' to boot...
Why have I finally got one...?
guess its coz I enjoy rapping with a generally genuine group of 'Crazy Folks' who are also individualistic... and are prepared to fight for their way of life..
and also a tad curious to see how many boats 'Do a Runner' when one drifts into the anchorage... :p
CF is great fun... and the 'walking the line' on postings is nearly as addictive as seeing how high one can lift a hull before the flip... or polishing the rust off the exhausts on a winding country road...
Does this mean I'm now 'Institutionalised'....

I know you put this up here to tantalize all the registered users...we are green with envy. I think I will assauge my feelings with a good dose of taping and painting.

Is it hot over there yet?

What type of "institution" were you thinking of admitting yourself to?

I saw a boat and their backstay was pretty much all burgees while in port. They said they collected them from various ports they visited. Starting a collection now?

You should put the zee hag avatar on your spinnaker. Don't waste it on a tiny burgee!

those of us who are too adventurous have been threatened at min by that "placing into " bs--lol otherwise even some of the psychological institutional places we enter are done consciously or sub consciously and therefore, our own doing, involving a choice we made. now the other kind...... to which boasun is referring.......

Wondering .... how many CF burgees have been distributed?

I've been flying the CF burgee for the last week or so, but no reaction or comment received to date.

I was referring to "real world" observers, not the "pale immitation" of life represented here.

Bad news is yes we all really are. Some don't reside in this space time continuum. If you see folks out having fun on a boat it could be someone from CF.

I can assure you, if I am out having fun on a boat the last thing I am thinking of is being on CF.

From that you could tell, I am not having fun on a boat now (back to sanding)

So, why do I see so few photographs of you all on boats?

and what boat man sed...when solo--who is gonna take my pic--like i should do it meself?? not gonna happen..LOL

Re: My worries about 'Burgee's'....

No pictures, because I haven't figured out how to take the picture out of the camera and put it on CF.

A REAL cruiser would be using the CF burgee as a pattern and cranking out 5 more on their sewing machine--they won't last 6 months in the rigging.

zeehag 23-06-2011 11:00

Re: My worries about 'Burgee's'....

ofl--a REAL cruiser will save the thing and use it only when necessary. more flags flown, fewer brains shown.

One slight difference...

You can cross the line on a cat and flip the hulls as often as you like (more than three times, even) and keep righting it as often as you like!

However, crossing the line on CF has much more dire consequences, my 'institutionalised' friend!
