'After PC in Standby Mode, GPS Not Found' Workaround
I noticed that someone complained about this: When the laptop opened again after a period of standby, The PC was not able to find the GPS Mouse again.
I got hand of a Ventus GPS route logger device. very similar to a normal GPS mouse, but with a built in battery charged via USB. This device goes on receiving the GPS data even with the PC in standby and when the PC is reopened, its intstantly on and no fossing with shutting down program and make another go.
The device is just as cheap as a normal GPS mouse. Install the tracking program to get the driver, but dont run the program at the same time as Open CPN. The baud setting in this case should be 38400.
If you allow Windows to shut down the (USB) device it gets lost and won't be automatically found again when powered up again (AFAIK you need to restart OCPN at least).
