Going to Make it Happen !
I have been lurking around the forum for while as I have been away working for the past several years. Luckily for me however, I just lost my job and have been displaced from the boat I was working in the Caribbean to my home town of Milwaukee.
Here waiting for me on dry dock for the past 5 years is the boat I have inherited; a George Buehler Juno that my father with a little help from me and his friends built over 8 years!
The boat was never cruised and has been weathering wisconsin winters so it is going to take some loving repairs and quite a bit of fitting out to be ready to go but I plan to have it in the water by early summer (summer starts in about july here haha) and be underway to the east coast, then south shortly afterward!
So, its time for me to stop dreaming and start doing! Im a bit overwhelmed by the change, and I have saved up about half of what I anticipated but what the heck eh? You cant just keep putting this off forever!!
That is a very beautiful boat you have there!
Welcome and good luck!
Aloha and welcome aboard!
I was lucky enough to go sailing on a Juno a couple of times with my friend who built her. I helped launch her many years ago and still remember him forgetting to close one thru-hull at launching (he caught it quickly enough) and him staying aboard the first night to continually bail until the wood swelled enough to keep the water out.
I was so surprised as to how well she sailed in fairly light winds.
