Introduction, Chesapeake Bay Sailor

Hi everybody,

I've learned a lot from this board over the past few months, and figured it was time to introduce myself. My wife and I are about a year and a half away from moving aboard our boat to take up full-time cruising. Just gotta get the last kid off to college first!

I've sailed since high school, and we've owned several coatal cruisers before moving up to what is for us the perfect blue water cruiser. I consider myself fortunate to have found a wife who loves sailing as much as I do.

We bought our 1988 Mason 44 last August -- a beautiful boat maintained in pristine condition by the previous (original) owners, who circumnavigated in her. We're spending these two years getting to know "Airborne" and all her systems in preparation for the day when we cast off the docklines for good.

Welcome aboard, Jay.

I too as well as a few others have posted. Look forward in hearing more from you. And about your boat as well.

Welcome aboard!!

Welcome aboard Jay - Masons are good solid boats - I think you've made an excellent choice. Being single, I didn't have to go through the logistics and acclimation with my spouse when I bought my boat - I moved aboard about a month after I bought her. That was over 6 years ago, and I can't describe enough about how happy I am with my decision. I hope the same for you and yours!

Welcome from the southern part of the bay. Some good sailing ahead for the next month or so. You need to get out there and get that boat doing tricks on command. Let me know if you get the urge to come down to the fat end of the bay.
