fuel tank gage wiring

Thanks for the info,
the schematic does not look like how the boat is wired.
The engine is a westerbleke 27, The tank sender unit has three wires on it, and I think the gage has been replaced.
any ideas,

I donít recall ever seeing a 3-wire sender.
An isolated 2-wire sender is wired per my schematic, with the addition of an insulated return/ground wire.

You might try searching or asking at the Nonsuch Yacht Owners Discussion List:

Can we see a picture of the top of the sender? any name or numbers on the sender?

3 wires suggests an aftermarket unit with a Pos. Neg. and switch for low level or water in the fuel. Do you have panel lights for low fuel or "Water in fuel?)

As always, please remember that even in a series of boats, seldom are two built alike. "new" production boats differ from this rule slightly though.

Apparently not as uncommon as I would have thought.
