those are all good choices. Family had an Island Packet for a few years (a 420) and we enjoyed it. When its time for us to head out, we will be upgrading to an Amel 50 hopefully.

Great plan. There are very few available live aboard slips in San Diego. Chela vista may be your best bet.

Welcome to San Diego! We're newbies to liveaboard cruising (in Chula Vista Marina). Love it, though it is a trek to the ocean. We often anchor around Point Loma for a full day of sailing after. Perhaps we'll be dockmates some day!

Hey! Congrats on your life change. We are feeling like Chula Vista is in our future. It would be great to be dock mates! They seem to have the space and price to make the transition from land to sea possible in the San Diego area.
