Sun 90 Solar Panel
Anyone have any experience with the 'Sun 90' solar panel (www.sunelec.com)?? Found one on Ebay for $270 which is quite inexpensive for a 90 watt solar panel. The specs look good. Have read somewhere (it's not spelled out in the specs) that this panel uses a 'positive' ground.... Any comments regarding experience with this specific panel is appreciated. I plan on supplementing my existing panel array (2 85 watt Shell/Siemens panels.

I just installed one this weekend.
Aloha Tomj,
I bought two of them, I liked the 20 3/4 by 40 3/4 size. They seem well made but I beefed up the frame by pop riviting a 1 inch alum. angle all the way around. To soon to know about the performance. Not sure what you mean about the pos. ground. The hook up was very straight foreword. Good luck with yours. David. |
It's interesting...I was just looking at them on e-bay a few hours ago. The price sure is right. I will stay tuned for a performance report.

My clued up brother says high temperature affects performance badly. In hot climates or weather the cells overheat and performance falls off. Provide an air gap behind for some cooling, better still if water cooled, the warm water has uses too!
