Boat Angel on Ebay
Has anyone had experience with Boat Angel non profit organization on Epay? I have "heard" that they handle the paper work after the sale. Does anyone know if this is the actual title to the boat or just a bill of sell? South Carolina is a total PITA to get boats and motors titled in, at least it has been for me. Another issue I have "heard" with them is they won't put you in contact with the owner until after the sale. It seems like all the info you get is a second hand version of the owner's statement about the boat, a few pictures, and the requirement to pay their handling fee. Any info anyone can provide would be great as they have some decent boats come up from time to time.

Re: Boat Angel on Ebay
Made a ridiculously low offer on a Holland 30 and surprisingly was the high bidder. I was 2,000 miles away but had a friend in the area who checked the boat out for me after I'd bought it. Boat had a working Atomic 4, a brand new laminated headsail and 3 other headsail ranging from good to throw away, a bunch of racing gear, winches, etc. Only negative was the aluminum fuel tank had been laid in foam, water had gotten in and it only had 3 sides. When wife found out that I'd bought another sailboat she threatened divorce so I put an ad in Craig's List and sold it for what I'd paid for it plus the plane ticket to see what I'd bought. Boat had a California Title which was no problem to sign over.
