Hi,

My sailing experience is low, I can sail a small sport boat/cat.

Before the corona virus hit I was researching converting a DHL-van to a campervan and traveling Europe (and beyond), but I was not committed enough to have a deadline, especially because I was doubting my skills to self-motivate when working remotely.

Corona changed my plans.
After working remotely I know that working remotely works for me if I'm part of a team.
With all the free time I stumbled on liveaboard cruiser youtube channels, and learned that i can do this too.

March 2021 is my deadline for 0.5y to 1y cruising the mediterranean
* Accept that the first boat is not perfect and you'll probably sell it within 2 years.

It's more planning for failure. I want to work remotely forever, i have a 2 year budget to fail.

Damn, I see now that world navigation was not mentioned in my first post :(, i edited it tooo much on short term goals :(

The cool thing about working remotely is that you can do that from lots of places.

Get your first boat and sailing experience closer to home (which might be all the cruising that's possible over the next year). Try out the work-from-boat thing too. Aim for foreign parts by 2022 or 2023.

It limits my anchoring options a bit because I do need internet, But I'm hopefull that sattelite data will become more affordable in the next 5 years.

Home is Berlin, the lakes there are pretty small, I Will join the yacht/sailing club there.
For sea cruising the Med is best option for me.

I envy US cruisers, they can easily reach the caribbean. For me it's not the place to start.

... Ok, that makes sense. Maybe plan a move to some nice coastal town in Greece with an active cruising scene?
