oeRNC - licensed Raster charts for OpenCPN
 

We can announce a new plug - in the oeRNC chart plug-in - giving access to new chart sources for OpenCPN and covering additional sailing areas.

In the raster portfolio you will find fine charts from Explorer Charts, the famous sets covering the Bahamas, and from Imray. In the latter case we add an alternative source for Eastern Caribbean and the Adriatic Sea in raster format.
Plus closing an important gap with Imray raster charts for Greece, Turkey and the Eastern and Southeastern border of the Mediterranean.
More than 600 single charts.

The composition of the chart sets follows the content of the cruise guides from those editors and make them a nice complement for the guides. They work without the books as well, of course.

We are working to include more sources in the future, same as on the oeSENC, the vector side.

The oeRNC plug-in 1.0 is available from the OpenCPN download page, the oeRNC charts at o-charts.org starting from today.

A big thank you to all participating in the design, implementation and testing of the plug-in. Without to forget the translators.

The oeRNC_pi is not yet obvious to find. The link to oeRNC_pi is located inside the Plugins downloads oeSENC button.

When the dust has cleared after these endeavors I also think we can slowly proceed to other raster charts where ENC's are not yet available.
I know some special charts up here around. Others may have ideas as well?

where did you look for the download? At the manual? There is some work still to do.

One will find the download as always for all plug-ins at o-charts.org/downloads

Not very impressive. I prefere the good old CM93 (they are enc and not raster).

You may like to use a GUI tool like "synaptic", to make it super clear what is going to happen on upgrades.
