Long time Lurker from Western Arkansas
I have lurked here for several years but finally joined.
My wife and I have been sailing for several years mostly on lakes in western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. We have taken our Catalina 22 on a few longer trips including the St Pete/Clearwater FL area (my brother lives on Treasure Island) and the Florida Keys (spent a week on the little boat there). We have a nice little Catalina 22 we have traveled around with and a Catalina 27 we bought on Lake Tenkiller in Eastern Oklahoma. It was in a tornado which destroyed the marina last fall. We found it across the bay with a bent mast and some minor fiberglass damage. Most of the over 150 power boats were sunk when the marina docks were flipped over but all four sailboats made it (without their mast). The 27 is now home on it's trailer in need of a mast and some work. But I'm always thinking of the next boat... mabey an allied seabreeze? Thx-Ace Martin 'Ace' Mershon |
