Hardin 45

New to the forum...just picked up a Hardin 45 that had a fire in the cockpit and sat unprotected for 4 years so a refit starts in August.
I would love to hear from other Hardin owners!

Wow, sounds like a big project! Have fun, think it through, start at the root of the job first!
Send us pics!

Yes...big job.... or a bunch of small tasks
Just got Foxy lady ready to pull from the water-wanted to have the engine, genset and AC unit ready to pull when they put it on the hard to consolidate efforts. Since the entire cockpit needs to be re-glassed, I'm cutting out the sole plate of the cockpit to pull the engine complete. Sounds like a big task but I believe one can save time by taking time.

Pumped 55 gals of sludge, oil water out of the bilge and doused it with 35 lbs of kitty litter to soak up the rest. Next step...pull the engine, etc, clean the bilge and rip out the electric.

I've been video taping the refit so far and should have posts ready soon on "oldboatguy.com"

Really looking forward to an interactive refit with ideas and thoughts from all of you. Right now i'm designing an extra head in the vberth. Any thoughts????
