i am reading Emergency Navigation by David Burch. On page 39-41 he talks about manoeuvering around squalls. He gives this advice for the minimum course loss: "Upwind, tack away from the squalls path" but "Downwind, jibe toward the squalls path". Can anyone enlighten me? This is confusing.
