Sailing Barcelona to Gibraltar

I'm planning to sail from Barcelona to Gibraltar later in November 2016. The boat is a Dufour 50, new to us. My crew and I have extensive experience sailing the North Atlantic, but we are new to the Med. does anyone have any advice regarding weather, currents, or routing that they would like to share?

Re: Sailing Barcelona to Gibraltar

We pretty much coastal cruised that section. There are a few decent anchorages enroute and some of the marinas were not expensive. Make sure you keep a good watch out at night as there is quite a bit of traffic in this area. If you pick and choose your weather it shouldn't be that big a deal. The currents are strong as you get closer to Gibraltar so you may be motor sailing quite a bit as they are always against you.
