help with manual windlass id
 

I think this is 70's vintage. double acting manual windlass. would like to find owners manual and chain/rope gypsy. any thoughts

did you bother to read my question? perhaps than you would have noticed it is a manually operated unit with no power to get hooked up? perhaps you would have noticed it was not a question about operability it was about identiy and finding owners manual and a different size and style of gypsy? thanks for wasting my time.

yes thank gord I checked that out after you posted it might be the royal. and the atom page you linked had a good disasembly article. although while I think it is one of those it has some significant differences. I think/hope it is just an older model. I have sent a request to lofrans but have not heard back yet.

Well you are correct. I don't know much about a 70's style manual windlass. Clearly you don't as well or you wouldn't have posted this thread. Most of the newer windlass anchors are both power and manual driven (in case of power failure). Some of the first power driven windlass anchors did not have the manual ability (thus the invention of both). Yes I own a marine business. 99% of my business is electronics sales. I am no expert on windless anchors but I was just trying to help. Once again I am sorry I wasted so much of your time. I hope you don't read this post so I don't waste more.

wow, you just dont give up, do you. while I dont know the identity of every manual windlass ever made I atleast know it doesnt have power hook ups. I dont know of any manual windlasses that do. I also was not the one that tried to answer a question with out knowing what Iwas talking about. I will give you credit that many new power windlassess do have a manual back up capability but thay is totally unrelated to my original question and as such off topic. if you wish to continue posting unrelaed info just to hear yourself talk or make yourself feel better please start your own thread. if you have information that shows it might not be the lowfrans royal as suggested by gord then please tell me what make/model you think it might be. other wise take your off topic ramblings elsewhere.
