Re: liveaboard cruisin question???
Hunters are bang-for-the-buck and provide good living accommodation...People talk of blue water boats, which I own, but only 3-4 days in the last 35,000 nm did we need the big blue water boat.

For what you plan go for easy living!!!

Good luck

Re: liveaboard cruisin question???
Don't get hung up on finding the mythical perfect boat, but get the boat you like, can find, and afford and enjoy the lifestyle. There are more regrets from those that waited too long to make the jump than those that ever did on the "wrong boat".

We were intent on buying 38 ft+ but ended up with a 33 footer that doesn't appear on any blue water lists, however it fulfills our needs pretty darn well. Every time I think about how much cheaper it was to buy and is to maintain it brings a smile to my face. I'd so go smaller if your happy thst out can do the job and throw the savings into the cruising kitty.

Re: Liveaboard Cruising Question?
My husband and bought a 1972 36' Gulfstar Center Cockpit Motorsailor, 2 cabin. We are full time liveaboards and are very comfortable. With a full keel that draws only 3 1/2 ft., perfect for coastal cruising and cruising the Bahamas. That's where we're headed:-)

Re: Liveaboard Cruising Question?
Hunters have always had very roomy and good live a board interiors and after all that is what you are wanting to do so it sounds like a decent choice.
