Sunday in the Park with Goerge and Malcom

There's a new thread regarding the change in cruisers/people/attitudes from friendly to otherwise, or not. Most older farts, I'm relatively certain, feel things have gone down hill toward the much less civil. Newer, younger folks don't know/don't care about these changes. If that's you, please move on.

Continuing readers: Please take the attached poll. I think it important to know who we're communicating with. Thanks for honesty, this is an anonymous poll.

https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/i...IADDoy8PaBfZAA

Question is do you recognize this graphic as a combination of the two famous images it is or does it mean nothing to you, and in fact, is kinda stupid?

My bad of course. I couldn't get the poll right and hit the back button too many times. Didn't mean to spam.

Coops, please pick one of the two polls with the picture, and drop the other two posts. Thanks.

Call me snarky but I'd bet big that many CFers do not recognise these images, ergo can't possibly relate to what we're about here.

Super Hottie and Nudist Wifey B said it best: She was too young to know what we're talking about and wasn't sure she cared. Gotta love the honesty. And etc.

Guess this was a silly idea. It wasn't a Jeopardy! question as much as an inquiry into the age and scholarship of the readership. Guess I should have written the answers upside down like I was from Australia.

You know wot they say about presume!

... wait, hold that thought ... wot?

Oh.

Boaty I'm told presume is different from assume.

Nevermind.

Talking about scholarship... :whistling:

The poll is a red herring.
This is actually a covert spelling test.
Goerge = George, Malcom = Malcolm.
I win.

Crabby, I think that I'm likely as old as anyone on the forum, and I was told that I was well educated... and my comment, ex the poll, is :WTF???

I have some doubt that your pop quiz has any bearing on the changes in cruising etiquette and practices... you know, those things that Boatie was talking about.

I got it. It's not cruising per se, but it is about changing etiquette and practices. It's the contrast between the gentile 19th Century picnickers and the distopian characters from Clockwork Orange.

"But are you as "out there" strangeness wise?"

Crikeys, Coops, I hope not! I'm just a boat bum, not a bleeding philosopher!

And I did recognize the pointillistic style, and I did read Clockwork Orange, but didn't get the CO ref from the p icture... and I still say WTF?

Guess I'm a looser!

Ah yes, but deep down you know, not only in a previous post did I correctly identify the actual artist, the original artist and the inserted foursome. I refrained on ethical and moral grounds from inciting my friend BC from an apopolyptic meltdown regarding this sensitive matter. One in which, Im afraid he has demonstrated a remarkable lack of tolerance for.

Not to mention, our dear mod coops may have found it necessary to remonstrate with BC and chastise him politely and then remove the ensuing posts which no long contain WTF! and went straight to F!.

So we are all agreed then? Guinness is a great beer?

lol..... its been a long night and each comment made has cracked me up from the personality of the poster........

There is a lot of extremely DRY humour which has been great to see.
I knew the influence of Britain on the world was worth it.....
Even though Im Irish..... and thats funnier in itself!!

No, cannot agree Weaver. Guinness is not a great beer. It is a great stout, but I do not like stout. Kilkenny however is a different matter, my lady and myself have just finished a six pack of it.:thumb:

PS. Guinness maybe do make a great beer. I used to be able to get it over here for a short while but have not seen it here for ages. Irish ales are fantastic is my final statement.

PPS. It has been a fun thread. What a pleasure.
