So heres 'the thing' ... I have now met a few sailors at various anchorages, marinas etc. etc. and have had some good socialising fun with them when all of a sudden ... and this has happened on more than one occasion ... get to find out some how in the conversation that they also are on this forum. Man, I gotto tell you that it is embarrassing to say that some of THESE TERRIFIC FOLK in person are also the same I had considered 'pests' on the forum ... AND ... speaking with these guys ... quickly realised that 'I learnt some things' listening to these guys.

So ... its great to share and great to disagree ... at the end of the day we are with people who have the same passions as do we ... a passion for sailing and learning new skills whilst doing it ...

If anyone meets me in real life, just a quick heads up - don't offer me free booze, and if you do probably best not to get onto politics, religion or.......pretty much anything else that involves two sides :p.

and if booze is involved I would also consider it a personal favour if folks would neither bet me not to do stuff nor simply suggest that "someone does". yer, know the sort of stuff - could "someone" climb that mast when upside down and butt naked :rolleyes:. Thanks :thumb:.

On the plus side, if folks find they have a sudden need for a shovel at 3am no questions asked then am usually happy to oblige :thumb: - just bring the f#cking thing back :banghead:.

Ha! Gotcha! I disagree with you and you're wrong...I once painted (brush and roll) a cargo van "camouflage" using exterior house paint. :cool:

I'm a little surprised at this turn of events. I had always assumed that you would be supplying the free booze if we ever met IRL. In return I would totally and unreservedly agree with all your views on politics, religion, sex, anchors, guns or whatever have you.

As for the shovel, I would surely expect you to take it back with you after you finished using it to shovel what I needed to be shovelled at 3am. Heck, I would even hold your free booze bottle for you while you shovelled up the whatever.

Let me finish by making it clear that if you disagree with this, you are wrong.
