Seychelles - Australia
Hi to all , this the first time I've been on this forum ,great stuff. I'm looking to sail from the Seychelles to Australia via Chagos and Cocos Keeling and wondered if anyone on here has done the route or has any info on it ? approx 3500, figured we'd basically follow the equator across to Chagos then vere down a few degrees . look forward to hearing from anyone .

Re: Seychelles - Australia
best bet is to use the sw monsoon that blows may till october north of the equator to get to malaysia, then work your way down through indonesia till you can turn right for darwin.
alternatively if you want to get to perth leave seyshells in sept-oct for richards bay, head down to port elizabeth, then head down to about 35-40 s where you will find westerlies, best done in nov dec-jan |
Re: Seychelles - Australia
Thanks Atoll, I did note the equator route as you said between May and October and this fits my time route plus the temperatures a bit more my speed. The boats ex charter so until I get it back and do a refit I'd prefer to to stay out of the Southern ocean. Appreciate your info , have you done either of these yourself ?
