- I moved aboard my first boat at age 20, in 1983. I have worked as a captain for 30 years, while working seasonally as a mountain climbing guide, whitewater kayaking instructor, and ski patrol. I am divorced, with 2 young kids, currently 7&9 years old.Much of my time is devoted to developing aquaponic grow systems for raising produce on waste generated by fish growing in tanks. I still manage to deliver boats on the side for roughly 10k miles per year. I am currently building several boats for use with kid's sailing programs .
